So, another assissination in Beirut. Un-Huh. Yup…
Antoine Ghanem was assassinated, how many people knew who he was before he died will be a rather unanswerable question, but he’s dead. A March 14 politician has been killed.
And sorry for this, but what’s new? The Lebanese people knew this was going to happen, we just didn’t know when. Now it happened for real and we continue to be the most politicaly ignorant, blindly stupid population on earth.
I’m being this harsh for a reason. Everyone in the past few hours preceeding the assassination has yet to take a REAL stance on this:

‘It was Feltman’
‘It was Ahmadenajad’
‘It was Boash’ (accented version of ‘Bush’)
‘It was Aoun’
‘It was Hariri’
‘It was Nasrallah’
‘It was Gamayel’
WHAT THE HELL? Do people not see that what’s happening to the Middle East (not strictly Lebanon) is not war. It’s not bombs. It’s not a fight.
It’s a language. A political science of its own kind being played out on OUR LAND.
We- Lebanese, Palestinians and Iraqis- are fucked with, by every single damn corner of the earth. The Americans, the Iranians, the French, the Syrians, the Russians, the Chinese, and even the North Koreans apparently.
When are we going to seriously ask ourselves when will WE let this end?
Antoine Ghanem and the four others that died with him are dead because we invite the US, Iraninan, and French ambassadors into the hallways of power in Lebanon.
Kick them out and the assissinations will follow them.

very good point… and your probably right about kicking external forces out but how easy is that to do? Don’t some “lebanese” (which i put in quotations because i doubt their patriotism) want and are inviting the external forces? in which case its like you have to chose a lesser evil, civil war vs.external forces pulling the lebanese strings..
i think it’s important to remember that involvement of other countries in lebanon is not by force.. those countries wouldn’t be there if someone(s) didn’t want them there..
